What Is A Family Child Care Home?
.In some Canadian provinces, such as Manitoba they have group family child care with up two caregivers providing child care in a private home.
There are two types of family child care in Canada:regulated childcare, where the caregiver and the home are approved and supervised by an independent agency; or independent family childcare where the caregiver follows regulations set by their province or territory. The independent caregiver is supervised by the parent using the care. Canadian provinces have standards regarding family childcare in private homes.Canadian provinces have different systems and programs in place to provide:support, networking opportunities and training programs for family child caregivers. Family child care givers work together with families as "parenting partners" requiring child care. A family child care home provides your child with a loving, nurturing environment in the caregiver's home. Family child care homes should be offering families daily programming supporting children's development; good nutrition; supervision and maintain a safe environment.
